Bengaluru: DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin took part in the swearing-in ceremony of Congress leader Siddaramaiah as Karnataka Chief Minister on Saturday. Referring to the political development, he said the "dawn" seen in the south of India should spread to the rest of the country.

"Hearty congratulations to Hon'ble @siddaramaiah avaru and Hon'ble @DKShivakumar avaru on taking oath as the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka respectively. The dawn heralded in the south should spread to the rest of India and today's swearing-in ceremony in Bengaluru is a bellwether of such change," he tweeted.

The Tamil Nadu CM said he sincerely believed that the secular duo - CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar - will take Karnataka to newer heights through their able administration. He also said that the BJP has been wiped from the Dravidian landscape.

He also alleged that the banning of Rs 2000 currency notes is a ploy to cover the BJP's failure in Karnataka. "500 suspicions, 1000 mysteries, 2,000 mistakes! A single trick to conceal the electoral fiasco in Karnataka #2000Note #Demonetisation," he tweeted in Tamil.
