Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Monday transferred the probe of MLA’s poaching case to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which was previously under investigation of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the state police. Further, the court entirely dissolved the investigation team, citing that the state can't constitute the team legally.

After hearing the pleas of the accused, which argued that they have no faith in the investigation by the SIT constituted by the state government, Justice B Vijaysen Reddy transferred the case to the central agency.

Justice B Vijaysen Reddy said that the state government's order to constitute SIT could not be sustained legally, and quashed the team and the probe carried out by them till date.

Meanwhile, BJP also pled for the same, to transfer the case to CBI but the court rejected it, as it is a third party and the case is between the state and the accused.

The SIT had earlier summoned BL Santosh, the National General Secretary of BJP for questioning. But the Telangana High Court stayed the notice, and extended it till December 30.

It was by the tip-off by BRS MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy, the state police arrested the main accused in the case viz. Ramachandra Bharati alias Satish Sharma, Nanda Kumar and Simhayaji Swamy, from a farm house at Moinabad. They were allegedly trying to offer Rs 100 crore to MLA Rohith Reddy and 50 crores to other three MLAs, in order to lure them into BJP.

Reacting to the development, Krishank, the Social Media Convener of BRS tweeted that the court decision is a "relief to the hiding mouse”.

“After BJP's 7 Attempts to handover MLA Poaching Case to CBI, finally it’s a relief to the hiding mouse, who is now relieved from SIT inquiry,” tweeted Krishank.
