Social media uproar on alleged public exam paper leak in UP

Lucknow: After the second shift of the Uttar Pradesh Police constable exam, conducted on Sunday, candidates complained that the exam paper was leaked. A massive uproar erupted in social media over the allegation, NDTV reported.
Alleged screenshots of exam papers shared through WhatsApp went viral on X, stating that the exam paper was shared among aspirants.
An X user expressed their dismay at the UP government’s incompetency in conducting secure exams, reminding previous incidents of paper leaks during RO and ARO exams. They demanded a strong investigation.
Furthermore, in Ballia district, UP Police caught 14 people suspected of cheating in the ongoing exam. Three among them were impersonating police constable candidates.
In the past two days, police have arrested more than 100 people for alleged cheating or impersonating during UP Police constable recruitment from the districts including Etah, Mau, Prayagraj, Siddharthanagar, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur, Jaunpur, Firozabad, Kaushambi, Hathras, Jhansi, Varanasi, Agra, Kanpur, Ballia, Deoria, and Bijnor.
The constable exam conducted on February 17 and 18, aims to recruit 60,244 male and female cadets.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPPRB) ditched the allegations of paper sharing, claiming that preliminary investigation has not churned out any evidence for that but some people are manipulating Telegram app’s edit feature to spread rumours. It said that it is monitoring the spreading news and investigating its origins.
It further said that there was an issue with faulty printing of question paper from a centre in Varanasi, about which the Board has taken necessary action. It claims that it is committed to maintaining transparency and integrity in the examinations it conducts.
