New Delhi: Samyukta Kisan Morcha, the umbrella body of farmers protesting against the contentious agriculture laws, has condemned the humiliating remarks of Prime Minister Narendra Modi against the protesters.

In a press statement, SKM said that the remarks were insulting the farmers.

Modi, while addressing Rajya Sabha on Monday had spoke about a new breed of protesters, aandolan jeevi, who could be seen at every agitation.

"These parasites feast on every protests. When they are not in the front, they operate from behind the scenes, they cannot survive without protest," he bemocked.

The farmers body reminded the prime minister that Andolans (movements) liberated India from Britishers. It also took a swipe at Bharatiya Janata Party, which was not a part of anti-colonial struggle.

The statement said that the farmers will be only happy to return to farming if the government acknowledge their demands by repealing the laws and placing a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price for their crops.

The statement disapproved the "FDI" remarks of the prime minister.

"A new kind of FDI has emerged in the country and it is Foreign Destructive Ideology. We need to be more aware to save the country from such an ideology," the PM stated.

Taking objection to the remarks, the farmers' body questioned the government genuineness on intention of solving the farmers.
