RSS denied permission for route march in Tamil Nadu on Oct 2

Chennai: The permission given to the RSS to hold marches on October 2 by the Madras High Court has been denied by the Tamil Nadu police citing anticipated violence in the wake of a ban on the Populist Front of India.
The TN police said that the prevailing law and order situation is not conducive for the RSS to hold marches at 51 locations in Tamil Nadu on October 2.
However, the RSS is said to be approaching the High Court again in the wake of a new curb from the Police. RSS had earlier gained permission from the High Court to hold route marches at 51 locations in the state.
The state government said that the permission denial is not confined only to RSS as there are other organisations like Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), had also been denied to hold any kind of marches.
Meanwhile, the RSS has issued a legal notice to state Home Secretary Phanindra Reddy, DGP Sylendra Babu, Thiruvallur district SP and town inspector in response to the denial.
RSS termed the police denial as illegal and contemptuous while reminding the police that it has bound to give protection to ensure the "successful completion of the mission".
The VCK and left parties had announced a Communal Harmony rally on October 2nd, and several organisations had extended support to VCK Chief Thirumavalavan's initiative and had announced their participation.
The Madras High Court, in its order on September 22 granted permission to the march with several conditions including that no members of the organisation must sing or speak ill of any caste, religion or individual.
According to the order, the participants of the programme are not allowed to express anything in favour of organisations banned by the government and must not indulge in activities "disturbing the sovereignty and integrity" of the country.
