A viral video from Ghaziabad has sparked widespread outrage after allegedly showing unhygienic food preparation practices at a local street food stall.
The 41-second clip, said to be from Krishna Chaat Bhandar, shows a youth wearing slippers mashing and washing boiled potatoes in a large vessel outside the shop at night. The footage was reportedly recorded discreetly by a customer and later circulated on social media.
In the video, a girl is heard saying that her mother regularly eats aloo tikki from the stall and that she wanted to reveal how the potatoes are cleaned using feet, Free Press Journal reported.
Reports indicate that such practices may be routinely carried out after hours. Following the circulation of the clip, a complaint has reportedly been lodged, and the police have begun an investigation.
The outlet, situated in a busy locality, is said to serve more than 500 customers daily, particularly for chaat and tikki. The incident has raised serious concerns about hygiene and food safety standards at street food establishments.
Social media users have reacted strongly, with many calling for strict action, while others responded sarcastically. Some comments mocked the situation, while others pointed out that those consuming street food should be cautious and stressed the need for stricter enforcement of hygiene norms to prevent health risks.
