New Delhi: Acknowledging the Modi government's successful hosting of the G20 Leaders' Summit, businessman Robert Vadra, husband of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi suggested that the Centre appeared to have drawn inspiration from past leaders, including Indira Gandhi in organizing such global gatherings.

He emphasized the tradition of the Gandhi family and the Congress party in fostering international support for India, suggesting that this tradition would endure.

The G20 Summit, which took place on September 9-10 in New Delhi, is widely seen as a testament to India's burgeoning global influence and leadership on the world stage. Vadra's comments added a unique perspective to the narrative, highlighting the interplay between different political legacies in India's foreign policy.

Moreover, Vadra expressed support for Congress leader Shashi Tharoor's characterization of the G20 declaration as a "diplomatic triumph". He expressed optimism about the possibility of future international events of this calibre, assuring that his family would continue to support such initiatives as proud Indians.

On the issue of renaming the country to Bharat, Vadra noted the BJP-led government's interest in the matter and cautioned against trivializing the significance of such a change, suggesting a measured approach to the discussion.
