New Delhi: India received strong critical remarks from several Muslim countries on derogatory statements made by BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma and Delhi media head Naveen Kumar Jindal on the prophet. Although BJP has released a statement announcing their suspension, the countries have also raised doubts on the protection of the Muslim population in the country.

The controversial statements made by the country have spurred up Twitter trends insisting on banning Indian products.

The United Arab Emirates has released a statement condemning and declining the insult made against the prophet. Apart from the UAE, countries like Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, and Afghanistan released similar statements on June 6.

Saudi Arabia called the statement a "permanent rejection of prejudice against the symbols of the Islamic religion." Although the country accepted India's statement, the ministry has asserted its stance on respecting religious faith and symbols.

At the same time, Indonesia and Oman met the Indian ambassadors to express their grave concerns. Oman's Undersecretary of the foreign ministry of diplomatic affairs, Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy said that such statements and opinions are unhealthy and disgraceful enough to highly provoke the peaceful relationships between the countries.

The foreign ministry of Bahrain released a statement which reassures,

"The importance of respecting all religious beliefs, symbols, and personalities, and the concerted efforts of the international community to spread the values of moderation, tolerance, and dialogue between religions and civilizations, and to confront extremist ideas that feed sedition and religious, sectarian, or racial hatred."

The Taliban-led interim Afghan government, Ministry of Pakistan, Organization of Islamic Corporation, and other members of GCC have issued similar statements.

The Indian government in the statement has promised to sew up rifts in conflicts of minority communities and ensures protection of every religious beliefs.
