Ramesh Bidhuri in fresh row says Delhi CM Atishi changed her father

New Delhi: BJP candidate for the Kalkaji Assembly constituency, Ramesh Bidhuri in what could be called a personal insult to Delhi Chief Minister Atishi said that ‘she changed her father’.
Bidhuri’s remarks follows his controversial sexist comment that if elected he would make the roads in his constituency as smooth as Priyanka’s cheeks.
At a stump speech in the national capital on Sunday, Bidhuri lashed out at the Delhi chief minister saying: ‘Atishi, who was Marlena, is now Singh. She has even changed her father’.
Expanding on it he said that Atishi changed her name and became Singh, adding ‘Arvind Kejriwal swore on his children not to align with the corrupt Congress. Marlena changed her father. This reflects the character of the Aam Aadmi Party.’
BJP leader claimed that Atishi’s parents filed a mercy petition against the death sentence of Afzal Guru, adding that ‘I want to ask the people of Delhi whether they want to support those who sought a pardon for Guru's death sentence.’
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal took to X condemning the BJP leader’s remarks saying that ‘BJP leaders have crossed all limits of shamelessness. BJP leaders are abusing Delhi Chief Minister Atishi ji. The people of Delhi will not tolerate the insult of a woman Chief Minister. All the women of Delhi will take revenge for this’.
