Ram Temple construction committee denies allegations of water leakage

Nripendra Mishra, the Chairman of the Ram Temple Construction Committee, has refuted claims of rainwater leakage in the Ram Temple, stating that the water observed was from pipes installed for electrical wiring.

This clarification comes in response to allegations made by the temple's chief priest, Acharya Satyendra Das, regarding water seeping into the sanctum sanctorum during recent rains.

Mishra assured reporters that he personally inspected the temple and confirmed that the water ingress was not due to leakage but from pipes on the second floor, which is still under construction. He explained that once the roof of the second floor is completed, rainwater will no longer enter the temple.

The issue arose after heavy rain on Saturday midnight led to rainwater dripping from the roof directly above where the priest sits in front of Ram Lalla's idol and where visitors come for VIP 'darshan'. Chief Priest Das had urged temple authorities to address the problem, pointing out the apparent oversight in drainage arrangements during construction.

Das expressed surprise that despite the involvement of top engineers from across the country, such an incident occurred, questioning the construction quality of the world-famous temple.

In response, Mishra highlighted that temporary measures have been taken to protect devotees from rain and sunlight. He also provided an update on the temple's progress, indicating that work on the first floor is expected to be completed by July, with the entire construction set to finish by December.

The Ram Temple, inaugurated on January 22, remains a significant project with high expectations.
