Chennai: Ice House Police has arrested three persons including two BJP office-bearers who threatened a restaurant owner of instigating riot as the latter demanded money for Biriyani the accused had taken.

Reportedly, the accused threatened to call Union Minister Amit Shah's personal secretary, saying that thousands will flee in to cause communal riots, on his orders.

BJP Triplican West Constituency secretary Bhaskar, president Purushothaman and their friend Surya were arrested on the complaint of the restaurant owner, who said that the accused threatened to kill him in riot.

The police have booked the three, who were under the influence of alcohol, for threatening of life and causing damages.

The incident took place last night at a restaurant in Ice House Muthaiah Street, Chennai. The group of three arrived at Mohammad Aboobacker's restaurant and ordered for biryani. When the staff told them that the shop was about to close, the gang forced them to cook. Thereafter, when the bill was given after the meal, they refused to pay.

When questioned, the group threatened Aboobacker. They threatened to call Union Minister Amit Shah's personal secretary, saying that thousands of people were ready to flee in if they called, that communal riots would break out and that the restaurant would not be allowed to run.
