PM Modi predicts BJP-led NDA to surpass 400-seat tally in upcoming Lok Sabha polls

Prime Minister Narendra Modi confidently declared that the ruling BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is poised to exceed the 400-seat mark in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Addressing a public rally in the Yavatmal district, he emphasised the anticipation of rapid development over the next five years.
During the rally, PM Modi criticised the Congress, particularly highlighting the backlog of irrigation projects in the country, especially in the Vidarbha region of eastern Maharashtra, where the district is situated.
"We (BJP-led NDA) will cross the 400-seat tally this time," stated Prime Minister Modi, referring to the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April-May, with a total of 543 seats at stake.
He further asserted, "The coming five years will see rapid development."
In his address, PM Modi targeted former Union minister Sharad Pawar, alleging that during Pawar's tenure in handling the agriculture portfolio (from 2004 to 2014 in the Congress-led UPA government), financial packages for farmers were announced, but the funds were diverted before reaching the intended beneficiaries.
The Prime Minister highlighted the transformative progress made since 2014, noting that before that year, only 15 out of 100 families in the country had access to piped water.
