"One can only pray to bless Modi with children": Lalu Prasad
text_fieldsPatna: Rashtriya Janata Dal chief and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav took a sharp dig on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that one can only pray to God to bless Modi so that he will have children to take his political legacy forward. Lalu Prasad was responding to Modi's remarks in the Rajya Sabha that dynastic parties are an immense threat to democracy, NDTV reported.
When Lalu Prasad was asked whether the BJP felt threatened by Samajwadi Party's Akhilesh Yadav and Lalu's son Tejashwi Yadav's rise, he replied, "You think so?"
On February 8, Narendra Modi had come down on Congress and "the Gandhis" in the Parliament. He said that the Congress problem was it never thought beyond. Talent dies first during dynastic politics. He briefed how different the country would have become if there were no Congress. He, however, praised Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for not bringing his son into politics. Lalu Prasad had included Nitish Kumar, along with Modi, in his "blessing with children" remark. Nitish Kumar's son, Nishant Kumar, is an engineering graduate and always stayed away from politics, NDTV reports.
Tejashwi Yadav is one among nine children of Lalu Prasad Yadav. He was the CM of Bihar in 2015 when RJD and Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United) were allies, but it lasted very short. He is now the leader of the Opposition in the Bihar state assembly. His brother Tej Pratap is an RJD MLA, and his eldest sister Misa Bharti an MP. His mother Rabri Devi had been CM of Bihar in 2005.
