Nitish Kumar caps preliminary exam fee at Rs 100 for all state commissions
text_fieldsPatna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday announced that the fee for the preliminary test (PT) of all state-level competitive examinations will be fixed at Rs 100, offering significant relief to job aspirants.
In a post on social media, the Chief Minister said the decision was part of the government’s ongoing efforts to create more employment opportunities for the state’s youth. “Our government has taken several concrete steps to provide more opportunities for government jobs and employment to the youth of the state and to secure their future. Now we have taken another decision in the interest of the youth,” he said.
The new rule will standardize PT fees across recruitment bodies including the Bihar Public Service Commission, Bihar Staff Selection Commission, Bihar Technical Service Commission, Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission, and the Central Constable Selection Board.
Kumar described the move as a “big discount” for candidates, aimed at reducing the financial burden on job seekers and encouraging wider participation in state recruitment exams. Those who qualify for the main examination will no longer have to pay any fee. “This step of the state government will benefit lakhs of youth,” he said.
The Chief Minister also reiterated his government’s priority to expand public sector employment, citing measures such as 35 per cent reservation for women in government jobs. The policy is expected to benefit candidates in upcoming tests, including the Teachers Recruitment Examination (TRE) 4.
