New Delhi: As dust settles over confusion in Bihar, NDA has crossed majority mark to continue in power in the state.

The NDA combine, formed by BJP, Janata Dal United, Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), has won 125 seats to the 243-member house—making the ally thinly qualified for the role.

The long day thus ended with BJP bagging 74 seats, falling one seat short of becoming the largest party, while JD(U) managed 43 seats.

Across the divide, the Grand Alliance pulled off 110 seats and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) stands out with 75 seats.

The Congress won 18 seats; as an important development in the election, the left parties emerged from near obscurity. And the Communist Party of India-Marxist-Leninist (Liberation) won 12. CPI and CPI(M) bagged two seats each, reports say.

Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM bagged five seats, while the Bahujan Samaj Party got one seat.
