E-commerce website Myntra has decided to change its existing logo to a new one following a complaint by a Mumbai-based activist, which claimed the signage was 'offensive towards women'.

Naaz Patel, the founder of an NGO called Avesta Foundation, lodged the complaint in December last year. Naaz demanded the removal of the logo as it 'resembled a naked woman'.

Before lodging the complaint formally, Patel shared her opinions about the logo online. She brought up the matter on multiple forums and platforms on social media.

Mumbai Police's cyber crime department informed the company about the complaint through an email. To which Myntra had said that they would replace the old logo within one month.

"We found that the logo was offensive in nature for women. Following the complaint, we sent an email to Myntra and their officials came and met us. The officials said they will change the logo in a month's time," DCP Rashmi Karandikar, Cyber Crime Department of Mumbai police as quoted by Jagran English.

Myntra has already started replacing the old signage across platforms, including the website and app. The company, reportedly, has also issued printing orders for packaging material with their new logo.

Myntra, one of the largest online retailers for apparel and accessories in India was founded in 2007, and was acquired by Flipkart in 2014. During its 'End of Reason Sale' this year the company sold 1.1 crore products in just 5 days.
