A disturbing incident occurred at a fair in Milikhan Jahanpur village, located in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad city, where a group of young Muslim women was harassed by right-wing Hindutva men. The incident came to light on Saturday, February 9, when a video of the harassment went viral on social media, The Siasat Daily reported.

In the footage, a man can be seen standing behind the women, who were dressed in black burqas, aggressively chanting “Jai Shri Ram” in an attempt to intimidate them. He made inappropriate gestures and taunted the women with crude comments, which seemed to discomfort them as they tried to leave the scene. The group continued to film the women while shouting provocative slogans.

The video, posted by one of the men involved in the harassment, revealed the disturbing nature of the attack. Later, during a live stream, one of the perpetrators described his actions, making derogatory remarks about the women.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of Muslim women in India, especially amid the growing influence of Hindutva ideologies. Social activists and women’s rights groups have condemned the harassment, describing it as part of a broader agenda to target Muslim women and assert dominance over the community.

In response to the incident, the Firozabad Police issued a statement, stating that they had instructed the local police station to take appropriate action. Two special teams, including a cyber-team, were formed to apprehend the suspect, though he managed to evade arrest after a police raid on his residence.
