The incident of a mob forcibly entering the home of a Muslim family and seizing their fridge on the allegation of storing beef is the second communal incident that has occurred since the BJP government came to power in Odisha.

The incident happened in Odisha's Khorda town. A video that captured the incident shows the mob taking away the fridge, with a police officer visible nearby while chanting "Jai Shri Ram."

The family was left shocked by the sudden intrusion and unauthorized seizure. It remains unclear if any action has been taken against the perpetrators of this vigilante raid.

In a related incident, recent communal clashes in Balasore town on Bakrid prompted the Odisha government to suspend internet services for 48 hours and extend the curfew indefinitely. The clashes, which erupted between two groups, resulted in injuries to ten people on Monday.

Balasore SP Sagarika Nath reported that seven FIRs have been filed and 34 individuals detained on charges of rioting. To maintain law and order, over 40 platoons of police personnel have been deployed, particularly in areas prone to violence. All six entry and exit points to the town have been sealed, and flag marches have been conducted in sensitive zones.
