Bengaluru: A man in Karwar district of Karnataka accidentally severed his finger while offering his blood to Goddess Kali for PM Modi’s third term in power, The Free Press Journal reported.

Arun Vernekar living in Sonarwada here lost a portion of his forefinger as he was attempting to draw blood with a machete.

Vernekar told reporters in Karwar: "I intended to collect some blood, but the force exceeded my expectations, resulting in the partial amputation of my finger. I will now regard it as an offering to the Goddess."

As the portion remained attached to the finger with blooding spewing out, and gathering it, he inscribed "Ma Kali Ma Modi Baba Ka Raksha Karo" (Mother Kali, protect our Modi).

The video of the incident is now widely being circulated on social media.

His family rushed him to hospital where doctors recommended complete amputation of the finger as surgical repairing was not possible.

The young jeweler has erected a small temple for PM Modi in his house with the leader’s bust, where Arun Vernekar regularly offers prayers.

The temple also features pictures of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Amit Shah.

There is a plaque inscribed with the words ‘While Modi is the guardian of Bharat Mata, I am the guardian of Modi Baba’ .

During the election campaign of PM Modi in 2014, Vernekar wrote a letter to the public in his blood.
