Bengaluru: Karnataka announces night curfew from 10pm to 6am from December 24 until January 2 2021. This is a preventative measure to evade the new strain of the virus from the United Kingdom.

Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, heeding the advice given by the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) made the announcement on Wednesday. The Chief Minister implored the state citizens to cooperate with the government for the brief period this night curfew has been imposed.

The imposed night curfew means that other than those working in emergency services and those with special exemption, everyone must remain indoors after 10pm.

In addition to the nigh curfew, other measures have been employed to prevent the spread of the new strain of the virus within the state. Anyone traveling from UK to Mangalore or Bangalore international airports must produce a RT-PCR negative certificate 72 hours prior to their departure.
