Mumbai: Chhagan Bhujbal, a long-time aide of the NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) chief, accused Sharad Pawar of engaging in secret discussions with the BJP through senior party leaders and subsequently reneging on these talks.

Bhujbal launched a scathing attack on his former mentor during a rally in Beed.

Referring to a timeline spanning from 2014 to the present day, Bhujbal questioned Pawar's actions and intentions. He alleged that Pawar instructed prominent NCP figures like Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel, and Jayant Patil to travel to Delhi and negotiate with BJP leadership for ministerial positions, as well as seats for MLAs and MPs.

Bhujbal further claimed that individuals currently sharing the stage with Sharad Pawar were co-signatories on a letter proposing collaboration with the BJP.

The rally took place in Yeola, Bhujbal's own Assembly constituency, and marked Pawar's return to the public sphere after facing internal strife due to the rebellion led by Ajit Pawar and his supporters.

Bhujbal reminded the audience that Pawar had previously apologized for endorsing his candidacy. He critiqued Pawar's strategy, suggesting that Pawar's leadership has consistently leaned towards the BJP since 2014.

Bhujbal concluded his address by asserting that the enthusiastic gathering itself proved that the NCP stood in solidarity with Ajit Pawar. He reiterated that the NCP MLAs had endorsed a letter pledging support to the BJP, attributing this controversial strategy to Sharad Pawar's direction.
