India will soon be among top three global economies, says PM Modi in Israel
text_fieldsPrime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday addressed Israel’s Parliament, the Knesset, where he received a standing ovation and was greeted with chants of “Modi, Modi”.
In his address, PM Modi said India would soon rank among the top three economies globally. “For the last few years, India has been the fastest-growing economy. Soon we will be the top three economies globally,” he said.
Highlighting bilateral ties, the Prime Minister described Israel as a powerhouse of innovation and technological leadership, saying this creates a natural foundation for deeper cooperation. He noted that India and Israel have elevated their ties to a strategic partnership and that engagement has since expanded in both scale and scope.
“We are committed to further consolidating this relationship across many sectors,” he said.
PM Modi underscored India’s commitment to expanding trade, strengthening investment flows, and promoting joint infrastructure development. He said the bilateral investment treaty signed last year would provide confidence and predictability to businesses in both countries.
Referring to shared democratic values, PM Modi said the common ideas and historical experiences of the two nations give strength to their modern partnership. He described both countries as democracies shaped by history and focused on the future, adding that the partnership is grounded in shared experiences and shared aspirations.
The address marked a key moment in PM Modi’s visit, reinforcing economic and strategic cooperation between the two nations.
