Rijiju confirmed the quota and expressed India's commitment to providing the best possible services for pilgrims. "Hajj Agreement 2025 signed with Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah. Finalized a quota of 1,75,025 pilgrims from India for Hajj 2025. We are committed to providing the best possible services to all our Hajj pilgrims," he posted on X.
During their meeting, Rijiju and Al-Rabiah discussed key matters concerning Haj 2025 and explored ways to enhance the pilgrimage experience for Indian pilgrims, aiming to further strengthen bilateral relations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the agreement, calling it "wonderful news" for Haj pilgrims from India and reaffirming the government's commitment to improving pilgrimage experiences.
For Haj 2025, the quota distribution follows the same 70:30 ratio between the Hajj Committee of India (HCoI) and Haj Group Organizers (HGOs), as outlined in the Haj Policy 2025. Of the total 1,75,025 quota, 52,507 pilgrims will be allocated to HGOs, while the remaining quota is for HCoI. Over the past five years, the distribution has varied between 70:30 and 80:20.
