India and Germany share strong democratic values: PM Modi

The PM was speaking at a joint press conference, along with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, where he added that India and Germany share a long history of cultural and economic exchange. Germany is India's biggest trading partner in Europe, the PM claimed.
PM Modi said that he and German Scholz discussed bilateral, regional, and international issues.
The PM said that he had talks with Scholz on bilateral, regional and international matters. Increasing cooperation between India and Germany will be beneficial for both nations, along with sending a positive message to the globe, he said.
Modi said that the people-to-people relations had improved very much between the two nations in recent years. Now, there are new opportunities opening up in all sectors because of the 'Make in India' Aatmanirbhar Bharat campaigns, and India is encouraged by Germany's interest in these opportunities, the PM said.
PM Modi said that Germany is an important source of investment in India.
"Apart from being our largest trading partner in Europe, Germany is also an important source of investment in India. The strong ties between India and Germany are based on shared democratic values of each other's interests," ANI quoted the PM.
According to him, the security and defence cooperation between the nations could become a pivotal pillar of the countries' strategic partnership. Together the powers will keep striving to fully realise their untapped potential in security and defence, the Prime Minister stated.
