I could have also built a Sheesh Mahal for myself': PM Modi
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that he had provided housing for four crore people in the country in the last ten years, adding that the country knows well that he never built a house for himself.
Launching a housing project for slum dwellers in the national capital, PM Modi took a dig at former Delhi CM and AAP leader Kejriwal pointing to the alleged splurge on the renovation of the chief Minister's residence in Delhi.
Accusing the Delhi government of corruption, PM Modi said: ‘I could have built a sheeshmahal, but for me my dream was that my countrymen should get permanent houses.’
PM Modi added that ‘The country knows well that Modi never built a house for himself. However, in the last 10 years, over four crore homes have been built for the poor, fulfilling their dreams.’
Calling the Delhi’s ruling party AAPda (disaster), Modi said that the party ‘committed a liquor scam, school scam, and pollution scam’ alongside ‘openly engaging in corruption and even publicising it.’
‘It is a disaster (AAPda) for Delhi, and the residents have declared war against this disaster (AAPda),’ he was quoted as saying.
Attacking AAP administration further, PM Modi said that the situation in Delhi could worsen if the AAP continues in power, stressing that the Centre is trying to raise the living standard in the national capital.
PM Modi accused the AAP government of harbouring enmity towards people of Delhi, saying that the AAP is not allowing the Ayushman scheme while the whole country implemented it, adding ‘The people of Delhi are suffering the loss due to this’.
