Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Sunday announced plans to name the road leading to the US Consulate General in Hyderabad after US President Donald Trump, officials said. The stretch is set to be called ‘Donald Trump Avenue’.

According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the state government will formally inform the Union Ministry of External Affairs and the US Embassy about the proposal.

In another move, the upcoming greenfield radial road connecting the Nehru Outer Ring Road at Raviryal with the proposed Regional Ring Road will be named after Padma Bhushan Ratan Tata. The interchange at Raviryal has already been designated the ‘Tata Interchange’.

The announcements follow Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s proposal at last month’s US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) Conclave in Delhi to name key roads in Hyderabad after leading global corporations.

In line with this vision, a prominent stretch along Google’s upcoming campus in Hyderabad’s Financial District – set to be the firm’s largest campus outside the US – will be named ‘Google Street’ in recognition of the company’s global impact.

Additionally, Microsoft and Wipro are likely to be honoured with a Microsoft Road and a Wipro Junction, respectively. The government is also considering dedicating other roads to distinguished individuals and corporations as part of its broader initiative to showcase Telangana as a hub of innovation-driven growth.

These announcements were made ahead of the Telangana Rising Global Summit, starting Monday at the upcoming Bharat Future City near Hyderabad. The two-day summit aims to highlight the state’s investment opportunities, with 154 international delegates from over 44 countries expected to attend.
