Hyderabad constable slaps restaurant staff for operating late night

Hyderabad: A police constable in Hyderabad has been placed in a detention centre after being caught on CCTV assaulting a restaurant employee for allegedly operating beyond the permitted hours in Tolichowki.
The incident occurred on April 21 at Al Rikaab Mandi restaurant, where Constable Gyaneshwar was seen in a video circulating on social media chasing and repeatedly hitting the staff member with his baton. The footage shows Gyaneshwar questioning the employee about why the eatery was open past the stipulated time and asking him to call the manager before the confrontation turned violent.
The Tolichowki police told Siasat.com that the altercation began after the constable’s queries were met with verbal abuse from the employee. The constable has since been attached to a detention centre pending further action.
