New Delhi: The NEET results brought out by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in Haryana showed only fewer number of students scoring above 600 marks in a Centre where previously at least six students hit perfect 720 out of 720, NDTV reported.

A total of 494 students appeared at Hardayal Public School in Haryana's Bahadurgarh with one student scoring 682 and only 13 students managed above 600 marks, according to the city-wide results.

The controversy over NEET results started when results earlier showed six students winning perfect scores alongside two candidates hitting 718 and 719 marks respectively.

When it led to suspicion and uproar, the Supreme Court intervened, cancelling the grace marks alongside ordering 1,563 candidates to retake the exam, with about 800 of these students appearing for the re-examination.

The NTA announced the city-wise results following a Supreme Court order, NDTV reported.

Previously declared on June 5, the results were re-published masking the identifies of the aspirants as a measure to determining if candidates at the controversial centres scored ‘disproportionately high marks compared to those from other centres’.

Over 24 lakh candidates took the NEET-UG exam, held on May 5 in 4,750 centres in 571 cities and 14 international locations.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is will resume hearings on July 22 petitions seeking the cancellation of the exam, a re-test, and a court-monitored probe into the allegations.
