Ferry aircraft en route to Delhi to fly Justin Trudeau home after technical issues delay departure
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's return from Delhi has been postponed due to technical problems with his aircraft.
A ferry plane is expected to arrive today to transport him back to Canada.
The ferry aircraft is scheduled to land at Delhi airport around 10 pm local time. Specific details about the aircraft have not been disclosed, and a query sent to the Canadian Prime Minister's office regarding the matter has gone unanswered.
Trudeau arrived in Delhi on Friday to attend the G20 Summit and was initially scheduled to depart on Sunday after the Summit. However, the departure was postponed due to technical difficulties with his aircraft.
According to Canada's CTV News, Trudeau and his delegation are currently stranded in Delhi due to the aircraft's technical issues and are likely to depart on Tuesday morning.
The Prime Minister's office issued a statement saying, "Upon our departure for the airport, we were made aware by the Canadian Armed Forces that CFC001 was experiencing technical issues. These issues are not fixable overnight. Our delegation will be staying in India until alternate arrangements are made."
