At least 57 dead and millions got stranded after torrential rains flooded parts of Bangladesh and India.

The Guardian report also said that about 2 million got 'marooned' after the worst floods in two decades in Bangladesh's northeast.

At least 100 villages at Zakiganj got inundated after flood water rushed to Barak River from India's north-east, the report said quoting the chief government administrator of the Sylhet region Mosharraf Hossain.

Disaster management authorities in India confirmed dozens of deaths in flooding, landslide and thunderstorms over the week.

Authorities in Assam reportedly said more than 850,000 people and 3,200 villages were hit by the flood, aside from 14 deaths in landslide.

As the rivers started overflowing, 90,000 people have been shifted to safety.

Large swathes of land remain submerged in most districts, according to the report.

At least 33 people were killed in Bihar in thunderstorms on Thursday.

Only the last week Bihar faced intense heat wave at 40C.

In Bangladesh's Zaiganj, people were seen fishing on flooded roads, according to the report.
