Declare Moon a ‘Hindu Rashtra’ before Jihadis make claim on it: Hindu Mahasabha leader
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Swami Chakrapani Maharaj, the National President of All India Hindu Mahasabha, has urged India to declare the Moon as a "Hindu Rashtra," by passing a resolution in the Parliament.
Maharaj urged the government to act swiftly in this regard, fearing that other religions and nations might stake their claims on it. The Hindu seer made this proclamation via a video message on the social media platform X.
Chakrapani Maharaj expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for naming the landing site of Chandrayaan-3, India's recent lunar mission, as "Shiv Shakti Point." He proposed that this location should be developed as the capital of the proposed Hindu nation that he envisions on the Moon's surface.
In his video, he emphasized the need to establish a Hindu nation to prevent the spread of what he termed a "Jihadi mentality."
This is not the first time Chakrapani Maharaj has attracted attention with his unconventional remarks. In 2020, he and his group, All India Hindu Mahasabha, hosted a peculiar "gaumutra party" during the initial phase of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2018, he controversially suggested that Kerala flood victims who consumed beef should be denied assistance.
During Prime Minister Modi's recent visit to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) headquarters, he designated the area where Chandrayaan-3's Vikram lander touched down as 'Shiv Shakti.'
The achievement of Chandrayaan-3, which successfully landed near the Moon's south pole on August 23, has made India the pioneer in lunar exploration within this region.
