Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh: An official on Saturday informed that Purushottam Shakyawar (78), a dead senior citizen of Biaora, received a message about having received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh, allegedly due to a computer error.

Purushottam died on May 24 while undergoing treatment in Indore. However, a message was received on his mobile phone on December 3 that he was administered the second dose of the vaccine.

Phool Singh Shakyawar, Purushottam's son, informed that they were also able to download the vaccine certificate. He further added that his father had taken the first dose of the vaccine on April 8.

District Vaccination Officer Dr PL Bhagoria said he had received information about the matter and is inquiring into it. He added that a computer glitch might have generated the message.

Biaora's block medical officer Dr Sharad Sahu reasoned the same saying that since vaccination is being carried out on a large scale, someone might have entered the wrong mobile phone number while making an entry. The mistake will be rectified, he added.

Meanwhile, Congress MLA from Biaora Ramchandra Dangi slammed the government over the incident and alleged that the state government was misleading people by presenting the wrong data of vaccination.

Such incidents were exposing the government's claim and a high-level inquiry should be conducted into all such cases, he said.
