Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, said on Friday that he was travelling to India ahead of the youth group's planned sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

Dipke, who is currently based in Boston, stated in a post on X that he was leaving his fate in the hands of the Constitution and was on his way to India. He is expected to arrive in the national capital on Saturday morning.

According to the group's chief spokesperson, Saurav Das, Dipke, along with supporters and activists including Sonam Wangchuk, plans to visit the Parliament Street police station after landing to seek permission for the proposed protest, Indian Express reported.

Addressing the organisation's first press conference at the Constitution Club in New Delhi on Wednesday, Das said that people from across the political spectrum were welcome to participate in the demonstration.

The protest has been called to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Dipke, who was briefly associated with the Aam Aadmi Party before moving to the United States to pursue studies in public relations, has been leading the campaign.

Das said Dipke had appealed to supporters to receive him at the airport and accompany him to seek official permission for the protest. He added that participants from both ruling and opposition parties were welcome, provided they attended without party banners, as the movement was intended to focus on issues affecting young people rather than partisan politics.

The group also appealed to members of Generation Z to join the demonstration, saying the protest aimed to seek accountability from the BJP-led NDA government on a range of issues concerning the country's youth.
