New Delhi: Services on Delhi Metro's Blue Line were disrupted on Thursday following a cable theft between Moti Nagar and Kirti Nagar stations, causing significant inconvenience to commuters. The Blue Line, one of the busiest corridors, connects Dwarka with Vaishali and Noida City Centre.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced that it would attempt to repair the affected section starting at 12:45 pm, during which single-line operations would be conducted between Subhash Nagar and Kirti Nagar stations. DMRC also indicated that if the repair work took longer than expected and could not be completed quickly, it would be carried out during the night hours after passenger services had concluded.

Earlier in the day, DMRC reported that train services had been regulated due to the apparent theft and damage of signalling cables by miscreants between Moti Nagar and Kirti Nagar stations. The resulting speed restrictions led to train bunching, causing longer waiting times for passengers and resulting in overcrowding at both stations and trains.

Shubhankar Singh, a commuter traveling from Noida to GTB Nagar, expressed frustration at the delay, noting that he was significantly delayed in reaching his destination due to the reduced speed of the trains.
