Board exam twice a year, flexibility for choosing subjects, study two languages: Centre
text_fieldsNew Delhi: The Centre on Wednesday announced new curriculum framework in line with its New Education Policy, NDTV reported.
Putting forward major changes in education system, the ministry of education said textbooks would be developed for the 2024 academic session.
As per the changes, students of Class 11 and 12 will have to study two languages with one of them being an Indian.
Board exams will take place twice a year allowing students to retain best score, according to the ministry.
More important, board exam will assess students’ comprehension of the subjects.
This will reduce the practice of students having to undergo ‘extensive coaching and memorization’.
Students will be allowed to choose subjects on their own during the 11th and 12th grades without restricting them to specific streams.
