BJP worker accuses Hindutva activist Chaitra Kundapura of financial fraud

Mangalore: Chaitra Kundapura, a Hindutva activist and political figure in Karnataka, is now embroiled in yet another controversy, as a BJP worker, Sudheena, has lodged a complaint against her for alleged financial fraud.

This new accusation comes while Kundapura is already in police custody in Bengaluru, facing charges of cheating a Byndoor businessman out of crores of rupees after promising a BJP ticket for the upcoming assembly polls.

Sudheena's complaint, filed at the Kota police station in Kundapur taluk of Udupi district, alleges that Chaitra Kundapura swindled him out of Rs 5 lakh after promising to help him establish a textile shop.

According to Sudheena, he first crossed paths with Kundapura during a Go Raksha Samavesha (Cow Protection Rally) in 2015, and their association led to discussions about launching a cloth shop.

With a vision of starting the business, Sudheena managed to gather the required funds through various means, including fishing and other sources. He stated that he handed over Rs 2 lakh in cash to Chaitra Kundapura, and an additional Rs 3 lakh was transferred to her bank account to support the venture.

However, things took a concerning turn when Sudheena realized that the textile shop had been registered in Kundapura's name while he was away working in Andhra Pradesh.

Feeling deceived and betrayed, Sudheena confronted Kundapura and requested a return on his investment. Instead of a resolution, he alleged that Chaitra Kundapura threatened him with the prospect of filing a false sexual harassment case against him.

These recent allegations add to the mounting legal troubles faced by Chaitra Kundapura, whose previous arrest in Bengaluru related to allegations of cheating a businessman with promises of a BJP assembly ticket has already garnered significant attention.

The ongoing investigations into both cases are expected to shed light on the veracity of the claims and determine the course of legal action against the prominent Hindutva activist.
