BJP slams controversial slogans ahead of Cong party's 'Vote Theft' rally
text_fieldsThe Congress's true goal is to "eliminate" Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP has claimed, after several prominent opposition members were seen raising controversial slogans at the Congress's massive rally in Delhi today.
According to IANS, some Congress workers were seen raising slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and claiming that his rule would end.
"So the agenda is clear. It's not about SIR. It is about Sanvidhan pe Vaar... In the name of SIR - they want to eliminate PM Modi? Recently, Rahul Gandhi threatened the ECI, too. So far, Congress has abused PM Modi 150 + times," BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said in a post on X, NDTV reported.
The Congress is staging a large rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on Monday as part of its campaign against alleged vote manipulation and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Party workers and leaders from various states have gathered in the capital for the event.
Reacting to the rally, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra told reporters that people would not accept what he described as an insult to their “beloved leader.” Congress leaders have not yet responded to the BJP’s criticism over the controversial slogans raised.
Patra said it was puzzling that the Congress chose to hold such a rally even after Parliament had debated the allegations of vote fraud. He said members from all sides had expressed their views in the House and that the Union Home Minister had addressed the issue in detail with point-by-point replies.
Patra accused the Congress of fabricating the narrative, arguing that the party never questioned election outcomes in states like Telangana, Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka, where it won, but raised allegations of vote theft only in states where the BJP emerged victorious.
He further claimed that the Congress walkout during a reference to infiltrators in Parliament showed that the rally against the SIR was aimed at shielding infiltrators rather than addressing genuine concerns.
