Bhagwat says man wants to become superman, then God
text_fieldsMen desire to be "superman," "devta," "bhagwan," and even "vishwaroop," stated RSS president Mohan Bhagwat, who added that as development is an endless pursuit, people should labour for the welfare of humanity.
Speaking at a workers' meeting at the village level, Bhagwat was organised by the non-profit Vikas Bharti, which is run by RSS member Ashok Bhagat in Gumla, Jharkhand.
“There is no end to development,” he said, adding, “Work should continue, one should strive to work constantly in areas of environment, education and health.”
Speaking of how there is no end to the pursuit of development, be it “internal or external”, he said, “Manushya hai, lekin manavta nahi hai, insaaniyat nahin hai, wo manushya ban jaaye asli pehle. Wahan jaane ke baad usko lagta hai usko superman, atimanav, aloukik banna chahta hai. Lekin wahan rukta nahin, usko lagta hai dev banna chahiye, woh devta banna chahta hai. Lekin devta kehte hain humse toh bhagwan bada hai, woh bhagwan banna chahte hain. Aur bhagwaan kehta hai, mein toh vishwarup hoon (Humans are there, but they don’t have humanity, they need to cultivate that first. Once there, they want to become superman. But they don’t stop there – they feel they want to become a divine being. But a divine being feels god is greater, so he wants to become god. And then god says he is all-encompassing)…”
Bhagwat stated that he was never concerned about the future of the nation because so many people were working together for its improvement, which would inevitably produce results, Indian Express reported.
“Various experiments were made in the past 2,000 years, but they failed to provide happiness and peace that are ingrained in India’s traditional way (of life). After corona (Covid-19), the world came to know India has the roadmap to peace and happiness,” he said.
The Congress responded to Bhagwat's statements by criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and referring to the comments as an "Agni Missile fired by Nagpur" that was directed towards Lok Kalyan Marg. Jairam Ramesh, the general secretary in charge of communications for the Congress, tagged a video of Bhagwat's remarks and said, “I am sure the self-anointed non-biological PM has got news of this latest Agni Missile fired by Nagpur from Jharkhand and aimed at Lok Kalyan Marg.”
