Attack on singer Honey Singh: Police registers case

New Delhi: Regarding the alleged manhandling of singer Yo Yo Honey Singh at his show in a club in Delhi, the Delhi Police has registered a case, officials informed on Thursday. According to them, the incident in question happened during the night between March 26 and 27, PTI reported.

Police said Hirdesh Singh, popularly known as Yo Yo Honey Singh, had filed a complaint in the Hauz Khas police station on March 27 about nuisance, misbehaving and threats issued against him. In the complaint, he said that the event was organized at a club in South Extension-II. Amid the show, a group of five or six unidentified people forcefully entered the stage and started misbehaving with the artists. He alleged that one of the group even caught hold of his hand and pulled him. They threatened him. Also, Honey Singh stated.

After that, Singh and his team left the venue, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Benita Mary Jaiker said.

The DCP said that the case registered has listed sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) have been registered and five accused have been identified. Further investigation is going on, DCP added.
