Anyone can go to court for "publicity": Ajmer Dargah chief
text_fieldsAjmer: Over the Ajmer Dargah row, Syed Zainul Abidin Ali Khan, the Sajjada Nasheen of the Ajmer Dargah, told Asian News International that anyone can file a petition for “publicity” and “personal interest”. A local court, Ajmer, ordered the issuance of a notice to the Dargah after a Hindu Sena petition claimed that there is a Shiva temple in the Dargah of the Sufi saint Moinuddin Chisti, ANI reported.
When asked about the claim and suit, Syed Zainul Abidin Ali Khan said that anyone can go to the court, and the court will entertain their petition. When proper evidence and proof are submitted, the final verdict will be passed, for which there is a long way to go.
When asked why the Dargah is being targeted, he said that it is the petitioner’s personal interest and anyone can do it for publicity. No one can forbid anyone from approaching the court, he said.
When he was asked about recent claims to mosques across the country, the Ajmer Dargah chief said, "What did (RSS chief) Mohan Bhagwat say in 2022? 'How long will you look for a shivling in every mosque'? The same was done inside Sambhal. The consequences were that five innocent people lost their lives. Out of the five dead, two were the lone breadwinners," ANI quoted.
Referring to the Sambhal killings, he said the death of the victims will be a big setback for their families, and the authorities do not have any remorse.
On Wednesday, an Ajmer local court directed that the notice issued was to the Dargah Committee, the ASI, and the third is the Ministry of Minority Affairs.
