New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath have once again coined 'the Ram' name to rebuke Congress' protest against rising prices of essential goods, wearing black clothes.

Talking to the media, Home Minister Shah said the day chosen by Congress to protest wearing black was deliberate to belittle the bhoomipujan for Ram Temple, which was done two years before on August 5 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He also accused the Congress of playing the politics of appeasement, calling the protest as part of it.

"Congress chose this day for protest and wore black clothes on Friday because they want to give a subtle message to further promote their appeasement politics. Because on this day itself, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation of Ram Janmabhoomi," Shah told reporters

The Home Minister also called the Congress' protest against the Enforcement Directorate's probe into the money laundering case with the National Herald and rising prices of food items as excuses to convey its opposition to the Ram Temple construction.

Chief Minister Adityanath also termed the Congress' protests as an insult to the devotees of the Ram. "Until now, Congress was protesting in normal attire, but today, they protested wearing black clothes. It's an insult to Ram bhakts. The Congress chose this day as today is Ayodhya Diwas which marks the beginning of the temple construction on Ram Janmabhoomi," he said.

Responding to the Shah and Yogi's coinage of Lord Ram against protest held by the Congress, Jairam Ramesh, AICC general secretary in charge of communication, said, "Home Minister has made a desperate attempt to divert, distract, polarise and give a malicious twist to today's democratic protests of @INCIndia against price rise, unemployment & GST. It's only a sick mind which can produce such bogus arguments. Clearly the protests have hit home!".
