New Delhi: Out of five men, who have been accused in the murder of two Muslim men from Rajasthan, three are said to be worked as police informers in Haryana’s Nuh district. Rinku Saini, Lokesh Singla and Shrikant reportedly informed police of suspected cattle smugglers, even accompanying police teams on raids.

The other two accused in the case are Anil and Mohit Yadav alias Monu Manesar, who is a Bajrang Dal member and an active participant in the cow protection task force in Haryana.

Police are probing the involvement of these five accused in the murder of Nasir and Junaid, who were found burnt in a Mahindra Bolero SUV last Thursday in Haryana's Bhiwani district. The police suspect the Muslim men were killed after being tortured by the accused in the name of cow smuggling.

An FIR filed with the Haryana police against Nasir and Junaid on a case of cow smuggling under the Haryana Gauvansh Sanrakshan and Gausamvardhan Act, 2015, as well as the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act mentions the names of the accused as informers who accompanied the police in the raids.

Rinku Saini, a taxi driver and member of the cow vigilante group, told investigators they took the two Muslim men to Firozpur Jhirka police station, reported NDTV.

The Ferozepur Jhirka station in Haryana has now come under the scanner over Junaid and Nasir’s deaths after Rinku told Rajasthan Police that the cow vigilantes had taken the two men there on suspicion of cattle smuggling.
