New Delhi: The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) informed that an earthquake of magnitude 4.1 happened in Punjab's Amritsar on Monday morning. This happened after tremors felt in some north-Indian states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh etc., days ago, NDTV reported.

The quakes in Punjab happened around 3:42 am at a depth of 120 km, NCS said. It tweeted, "Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.1, Occurred on 14-11-2022, 03:42:27 IST, Lat: 31.95 & Long: 73.38, Depth: 120 Km, Location: 145km WNW of Amritsar, Punjab, India."

Last week, Delhi and neighbouring states felt tremors in two different incidents. It was on November 9, quakes of 6.3 magnitudes epicentre in Nepal happened at 7:57 pm, and people ran out of their houses in panic. On November 12, another 5.4 some 101 km east-southeast from Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand, and strong tremors were felt in parts of north India, including in Delhi-NCR. The quakes originated at a depth of 10 km with a Latitude of 29.28 N and a Longitude of 81.20 E.
