Suriya to make Bollywood debut, likely to star in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Karna

According to sources close to the project, the talks have been ongoing for some time and Suriya is thrilled to be a part of this two-part epic, portraying the complex character of Karna from the Mahabharata. "It’s a historical set in the Mahabharata times."
The film is expected to commence shooting in 2024. The blueprint for the film's execution is already in place, with meetings held to finalise the cast. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra considers Karna his dream project and believes it has the potential to be a game-changer in Indian cinema. Karna will be getting a grand Pan-India release. The team aims to include actors from various industries. Suriya sees this as the perfect opportunity for his Hindi debut.
Before starting work on Karna, Suriya will complete his ongoing project, Kanguva, directed by Siva, and his upcoming film with Sudha Kongara, which will also see a Pan India release in the summer of 2024.
