Selena Gomez, now in her 30s, has found a newfound perspective on life and shared her experiences at her first Rare Impact Fund Benefit held at Nya Studios in Hollywood.

During the gala, the singer delivered an emotional speech in which she reflected on the challenges she faced during her lowest moments. She expressed her gratitude for overcoming those difficult times and reaching a more positive phase in her life.

The pop star shared that her bipolar disorder diagnosis was a turning point, providing her with clarity and a path to self-acceptance. She stated, "And tonight I'm very proud to say that I have and I've been working really hard every day, and I'm so happy just to be alive and to be here with you guys today."

She passionately spoke about the importance of mental health care and its potential to create a kinder, more connected world. She emphasised that her generation must recognise the significance of mental health care in building a better future. Launching the Rare Impact Fund was a significant undertaking for her, and she feels a sense of responsibility as young people look up to her.

The pop star discussed how this new chapter in her life has allowed her to prioritise what truly matters and let go of past pressures.

The 31-year-old singer spoke about how her 30s have ushered in a sense of liberation from caring excessively and feeling the burden of expectations. She revealed, "Now that I'm 30, I care less, so it's actually nice. I get to focus on the things that actually matter, and I'm not worried about things that were holding me back." This shift in mindset has allowed her to concentrate on more meaningful aspects of her life.

Regarding hosting the Rare Impact Fund Benefit, Selena admitted to feeling a mix of emotions, including nervousness. The event aimed to raise funds and awareness for youth mental health care. Selena confessed, "It is my first time throwing something, and I hate asking people for money, so I don't know. It's a weird concept, but I know that we're doing a good thing, and I couldn't be more lucky to have the platform to do that."

Sephora, in partnership with Rare Beauty, pledged to donate sales to the Rare Impact Fund on Mental Health Day, observed on October 10.

Currently, Selena is working on her upcoming album and recently released the dance track "Single Soon." She assured fans that the new record will not feature her signature sad songs. Instead, she is in a celebratory phase of her life and wants her music to reflect that.
