Actor R Madhavan is beaming with pride and joy. His son Vedaant Madhavan won five gold medals in swimming at the Malaysian Invitational Age Group Championships, 2023 held in Kualalumpur.

The proud father shared his happiness on Instagram posting his son’s image and wrote, "With God's grace and all your good wishes, Vedaant gets 5 golds for India (50 m, 100m, 200m, 400 m, and 1500m) with 2 PB's at the Malaysian invitational age group championships, 2023, held this weekend in Kuala Lumpur. I am elated and very grateful."

He soon received congratulatory messages from his industry friends, followers, and fans.

“How amazing. Congratulations Vedaant!" wrote Abhishek Bachchan.

Vivek Agnihotri also praised the teenager and wrote, “Wow! Congrats for each gold. Vedaant makes all of us very proud. Best. Always!"

Madhavan, Vedaant’s biggest cheerleader, has often shared how proud he is of his son. In 2021, Madhavan and his wife relocated to Dubai to help his son Vedaant train for the Olympics.

Last year, Vedaant made headlines a few times for his wins, including when he won a gold medal at the Danish Open.

Earlier this year, Vedaant also won seven medals at the Khelo India Youth Games 2023. Vedaant won five gold medals and two silver medals at the tournament.

Last year in July, Vedaant broke the national junior swimming record at the 48th Junior National Aquatic Championships and won the 1500-metre freestyle swimming competition.
