In the new issue of Britain's Harper's Bazaar magazine, actress Keira Katlyn has described the extent of harassment against women, from groping to threats of violence, as "depressing".

The actress told the magazine that she also takes precautions when walking home alone due to the threat of negative attention.

The 36-year-old also admitted that she has also experienced harassment like many women.

The "Pride and Prejudice" actress also said that she doesn't know anyone who hasn't been, in some way who has been subjected to sexual harassment whether it's being flashed at or groped, or some guy threatening to slit their throat or punching in the face.

It was when women started listing all the precautions they take when they walk home to make sure they're safe when the actress realised that also do every single one of them.

She had earlier revealed that she will no longer do any nude scenes in films directed by men.

The actress had talked about her discomfort while shooting for intimate scenes and the cause of her discomfort being the male gaze. Talking about it, she stated that it is the male gaze, and if she wanted to make a story about the journey of motherhood and body acceptance, it should be with a female filmmaker.

Keira in another interview had remarked about how sexual objectification of women still exists, and often women are still valued primarily for their looks. According to the actress, the only industry in the world where women are paid more than men is modelling.

The actress has two children, Edie and Delilah, with her husband, James Righton, a musician and former member of the band Klaxons.
