John Paul is no more to say stories, Malayalam screenwriter dies at 71

Kochi: Veteran Malayalam screenplay writer John Paul passed away today at a private hospital in Kochi at the age of 71.

He is said to have been under treatment for over two months after his health condition worsened.

In his three-decade career as a screenplay writer, Paul penned over 100 films, including critically acclaimed and popular movies like Chamaram, Marmaram, Ormakkai, Palangal, Sandhya Mayangum Neram, Oru Minnaminunginte Nurunguvettam, Neela Kurinji Poothapol, Keli, Malooty and Chamayam.

He had also collaborated with acclaimed directors like Bharathan, Sathyan Anthikkad, and Joshiy. His last script was for the movie Pranayameeukalude Kadal directed by Kamal.

His mortal remains will be laid tomorrow at a church in Ernakulum.
