Bhakts unleash cyber attack on 'Spiderman' by mistake
text_fieldsInfuriated by a sarcastic tweet mocking Narendra Modi, Sangh Parivar unleashed a cyber assault on Tom Holland, but on the wrong one. Tom Holland, who starred in the latest Spiderman movie editions, became the victim of the attack by mistake.
English cricketer and writer Tom Holland put up a mocking tweet praising Modi for renaming Motera cricket stadium with his name. He also added that this is not a good sign for the country. However, the Sangh Parivar came against the tweet, calling for a boycott of spiderman actor Tom Holland instead.
Mistaking writer T Holland's Twitter account to actor T Holland's, Sangh Parivar called for the boycott and ban on his movie Spiderman 3. Thus the hashtags 'boycott spiderman' and 'ban spiderman' trended on Twitter. Though many pointed out that they picked the wrong person, the attack is ongoing. Likewise, trolls have also erupted on the blunder.
"I'm a huge admirer of the modesty Modi showed in naming the world's largest cricket stadium after himself," was the sarcastic tweet by writer-cricketer T Holland.
Responding to the trending hashtags, the cricketer tweeted, "Oh dear - I seem single-handedly to have destroyed prospects for the next Spiderman in India."
He also apologised to the actor for the confusion while adding that the incident is "quite funny". "I had not realised that #BoycottSpiderman actually trended in India on the day that @TomHolland1996 was promoting his new film! My apologies to him as well. (Though it is quite funny...)," he tweeted.
