Renowned filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has stirred up social media with his latest Instagram post, where he slammed newcomers in the film industry who are seeking shortcuts to success.

Kashyap, known for his contributions to Bollywood and for providing opportunities to budding talents, expressed his frustration with individuals looking for quick routes to fame. Despite his efforts in fostering new talent, he revealed a sense of disillusionment, stating that he often ended up disappointed with the results.

In a bold move, Kashyap announced his decision to impose fees for meetings, emphasizing his exhaustion with dealing with subpar work. His Instagram post outlined the rates for prospective meetings, indicating a shift in his approach towards engaging with aspiring creatives.

"I wasted a lot of time trying to help newcomers and mostly ended up with mediocre s*it. So Now onwards I don't want to waste my time with meeting random people who think they're creative geniuses. So I will now have rates. If someone wants to meet me for 10-15 minutes I will charge 1 lac, for half hour 2 lacs and for 1 hour 5 lacs. That's the rate. I am tired of wasting time meeting people. If you really think you can afford it, call me or stay the f*ck away. And all paid in advance," Kashyap wrote in his post.

Asserting the seriousness of his stance, Kashyap emphasized, "And I mean it. Don’t text or dm or call me. Pay and you will get time. I am not a charity and I am tired of people looking for shortcuts."

The filmmaker's daughter, Aaliyah Kashyap, chimed in on the matter, highlighting the inundation of messages she receives regarding her father's involvement in projects. She humorously commented, "Forwarding this to everyone in my dms and email who keep sending me scripts to forward to you."

Kashyap's recent social media post reflects a broader sentiment he shared at a recent event in Kolkata, where he candidly discussed the state of the Hindi film industry. He differentiated between filmmakers driven solely by financial gains and those motivated by genuine artistic passion, highlighting the presence of opportunistic tendencies within the industry.
